The Toronto Blue Jays are the American League wild card winners. Edwin Encarnacion belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Blue Jays a 5-2 win over the Orioles in the single-elimination game at Rogers Centre. Encarnacion connected off Ubaldo Jimenez with one out to send the Jays to the American League Division Series.
They'll take on the AL West champion Texas Rangers in the best-of-five matchup starting Thursday in Arlington. Jose Bautista also homered for Toronto, while Francisco Liriano got five outs in relief to get the win. Mark Trumbo's two-run homer in the fourth inning accounted for the Baltimore offense, giving the O's a 2-1 lead. Ezequiel Carrera tied the game at two for the Jayswith an RBI single in the fifth.
