Colin Kaepernick Will Start For The 49ers

Following a dismal 1-4 start the San Francisco 49ers are trying to shake things up. Head coach Chip Kelly announced that Blaine Gabbert will be benched and Colin Kaepernick will be the started this weekend against the Bills.

After leading the 49ers to the Super Bowl  in 2012 season and getting within one game in 2013, Kaepernick struggled. He lost his job to Gabbert halfway through last season after a slow start and has struggled to get back to form after a multiple surgeries.

It isn't just his poor play that has been an issue for the embattled QB. In the preseason Kaepernick refused to during the national anthem to protest the injustices black Americans face. His protest inspired players from other teams, and in other sports to do the same. His protest has faced backlash from fans across the league.
