Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews is off to a history-making start. The number-one pick in this year's NHL Draft scored all four of Toronto's goals in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Senators in Ottawa on Wednesday.
Matthews completed a hat trick at the 1:25 mark of the second period, then scored his final goal with three seconds left to bookmark the 20 minutes. The 19-year-old is the first player to score four goals in his first NHL game. He also became the quickest to record a hat trick in his NHL debut. Matthews is the fifth player in history to notch a hat trick in his first game.
