Boston Red Sox fans are showing Baltimore Orioles outfielder Adam Jones some love. One day after he said he was racially taunted by fans at Fenway Park, Jones received a standing ovation as he came to the plate Tuesday in the first inning. Some Boston players also applauded as Jones came up to bat. Starting pitcher Chris Sale stepped off the mound to allow the ovation to continue.
The Red Sox met with Jones earlier in the day to assure him they are taking steps to avoid any future incidents. Team president Sam Kennedy says offending fans will be ejected and could have their tickets revoked.
