Phil Jackson's run as president of basketball operations for the Knicks is coming to an end. ESPN reports New York and Jackson will announce they're parting ways Wednesday morning. Jackson has been in charge of the Knicks for 3 years and has gone 80-and-166. He's also caused controversy with his insistence on running the triangle offense and creating tension with NY's best 2 players, Kristaps Porzingis and Carmelo Anthony.
ESPN's Ramona Shelburne tweeted "conversations between Jackson and Knicks owner James Dolan accelerated this week when the Knicks decided they would NOT buy out Carmelo." Anthony has a no-trade clause and two years left on his contract, the second being a player option.
