Jets Claim Whitehead Off Waivers From Cowboys

It didn't take long for former Cowboys wide receiver Lucky Whitehead to land with a new team. Multiple outlets report the New York Jets have claimed Whitehead off waivers from Dallas.   The Cowboys released Whitehead after news surfaced that the wide receiver was arrested for shoplifting in Virginia last month. A day later, police cleared Whitehead of the charges after it was determined his identity was falsely used. Despite the mistake, Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said Tuesday the team is sticking with its decision to release Whitehead and are moving on.  Whitehead has appeared in 30 games over the last 2 seasons with the Cowboys, totaling 9 catches for 64 yards and 20 carries for 189 yards.

The 25-year-old also has 846 kick-return yards and 305 punt-return yards.
