The calls for quarterback Colin Kaepernick to be signed by an NFL team continue. Nearly 100 NYPD officers attended a rally in Brooklyn this weekend in support of the controversial signal-caller, who has yet to be signed by another team since opting out of his contract with San Francisco in the offseason. NYPD Sergeant Edwin Raymond says Kaepernick is being "railroaded for speaking obvious truth." Kaepernick made headlines last season after he kneeled during the national anthem to protest inequality for people of color. The Atlanta chapter of the NAACP announced a national boycott of the NFL on Friday due to Kaepernick's unemployment.
A rally is planned outside of Mercedes-Benz Stadium on September 17th when the Falcons open their home schedule against the Packers.
