Some 50 million people in the U.S. may be tuned into watch MMA fighter Conor McGregor and boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight tomorrow night. That number would break a pay-per-view record set 2 years ago by Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Across the globe, the fight may be seen by more than 1 billion people. The former head of HBO's pay-per-view unit predicts an average of 10 people will be watching the event per household. If 5 million pay-per-views are sold, the fight could be watched by an estimated 1 in 6 Americans. For the fighters, pay-per-view means a big payday.
Mayweather is expected to rake in $200 million while McGregor will likely earn at least $100 million for Saturday night's work.
