The NFL wants a federal court to throw out Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's legal challenge to his suspension. The NFL filed a pair of arguments late Monday, asking the court to dismiss requests by Elliott and the NFL Players Association. Elliott and the union challenged the 6 game suspension for domestic abuse claims last week, after a hearing by an arbitrator hired by the NFL. The arbitrator is expected to make a ruling before the Cowboys open their season on Sunday. The league argued Monday that Elliott and the union can't sue to challenge something that hasn't happened yet.
Elliott denies his ex-girlfriend's claims he assaulted her.
