Rafael Nadal is through to the U.S. Open semifinals, while Roger Federer is headed home. The top-seeded Nadal cruised past Russia's Andrey Rublev 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 in Wednesday's quarterfinal match at Flushing Meadows. The 3rd-seeded Federer fell in 4 sets to Argentina's 24th-seeded Juan Martin del Potro. On the women's side, a pair of Americans won quarterfinal matches. Coco Vandeweghe upset top-seeded Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. 15th seeded Madison Keys advanced with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Kaia Kanepi of Estonia.
