Texas Football Team Shows NFL How to Really Honor the American Flag

INJONFL players can't seem to figure out what to do during the national anthem, but there's one high school football team in Texas giving them a clue.

Ahead of last Friday's homecoming game, all 19 players on the Bronte High School football team in Bronte, Texas, ran out onto the field carrying American flags unfurling behind them.

The idea came out of a conversation the team's quarterback had with Amy Chumney, a former high school teacher who now substitutes. Once the other 18 players were on board, she and another parent gathered the flags.

“We may be small,” Chumney told KTXS-TV, “but have big hearts.”

The patriotic display comes as star athletes across the NFL have decided to take a knee during “The Star-Spangled Banner” as a way to protest perceived injustice against black Americans.
