Odell Beckham Jr.'s Season Is Officially Over After Breaking Left Ankle

Odell Beckham Jr.'s season is officially over after the New York Giants wide receiver broke his left ankle in the fourth quarter of a game on Sunday (Oct. 8).

The Giants had a rough game almost as soon as the players headed to the field to play against the Los Angeles Chargers. Receiver Dwayne Harris suffered a broken foot -- he'll be having surgery on Tuesday (Oct. 10). Other wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Sterling Shepard were injured in the second quarter, as well.

Beckham will be having season-ending surgery later this week. ESPN reports: "The winless Giants gave the update Monday, less than 24 hours after the three-time Pro Bowl receiver and the catalyst of their offense was hurt in the fourth quarter of a 27-22 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers."

The sports news outlet adds: "Giants coach Ben McAdoo said Beckham's 2017 season is over." After suffering the painful injury, Beckham had to be carried off the field on a cart.

We're sad to hear about this devastating news. We're definitely hoping that OBJ makes a complete recovery and will be back to playing the game he loves so much.
