Poll: Americans Shift Opinion On Anthem Protests

A new poll says a majority of Americans believe professional sports leagues should not require their players to stand for the national anthem.  The poll by HBO Real Sports and Marist College found that 51% of Americans do not believe players should be required to stand during the anthem, while 47% believe they should.  The poll reveals a shift in what Americans think about national anthem protests.  A poll taken last September showed an opposite opinion,  with a majority believing players should be forced to stand.

Hundreds of NFL players have knelt during the national anthem this season, following the lead of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
