The NFL Is Hosting Another Meeting, And They May Have A Special Guest

INJOColin Kaepernick paved the way when he protested during the national anthem during last year's NFL season.

The debate over whether players should stand for the national anthem seemed to fade out going into this season until President Donald Trump took aim at those who disrespected the flag. Hundreds of players then protested during the national anthem the following weekend, which ignited the topic to a level we had never seen before.

As a result, ratings have dropped, ticket sales have plummeted, fans have boycotted the league, and the national anthem is no longer consistently broadcast on live TV. Last week, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell held a meeting with team owners and players to discuss how to handle the protests and said, “We believe that everyone should stand for the national anthem,” but stated that he would not take any action against those that didn't stand.

Now, it has been revealed that Kaepernick will be invited to the meeting, despite him not having an NFL team to play for.
