Kenyan Geoffrey Kamworor Wins Men's New York City Marathon

Geoffrey Kamworor of Kenya is celebrating a victory in the New York City Marathon men's race, holding off fellow countryman Wilson Kipsang by 3 seconds for his 1st major victory.  Kamworor ran the race in 2-hours, 10 minutes and 53 seconds.  He and Kipsang embraced just past the finish line to huge cheers. American running great and 2009 New York winner Meb Keflezighi completed his 26th and final marathon, collapsing as he crossed the finish.

American Shalane Flanagan is celebrating after dethroning Kenyan and winner of the past three  marathons, Mary Keitany, to become the first American woman to win the New York City Marathon since 1977.
