Former Major League Pitcher Dies After His Crashes In Gulf Of Mexico

Former major league pitcher Roy Halladay has died after his plane crashed into the Gulf of Mexico on Tuesday (November 7) afternoon. WTSP is reporting that the ICON A5 light sport aircraft crashed about 10 miles west of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Halladay was an eight-time All-Star and two-time Cy Young Award winner over his 16-year career with the Phillies and Blue Jays.  The right-hander threw the 20th perfect game in big league history in May of 2010, and became just the second pitcher ever to throw a no-hitter in the postseason later that year. Halladay was 203-105 with a 3.38 ERA in 416 career regular-season games and 3-2 in the playoffs.
