It's about this time of year when some employees start thinking about a bonus, but a few workers in China are dealing with the total opposite.
Women employed by a skin care company who didn't sell as much product as they should have had to slap each other in the face at the company's year-end party. Their boss allegedly made them undergo the punishment to keep their jobs.
The slapping took place on a stage in front of hundreds of people at the event, which celebrated Nanchang Jinhuayuan Meiye's 14th anniversary. On the screen behind the women was the phrase "Ruthless Team."
According to The Mirror, a company spokesperson said the incident is a "show of team spirit," adding, "Our team is strong."
Commenters on the video are now calling for the police to investigate the company.
