Israeli Transport Minister Seeks To Honor Trump

An Israeli government minister intends to name a proposed subway station after President Trump.  The State of Israel's Minister of Transport and Road Safety says he has decided to name a proposed subway stop near the Western Wall in Jerusalem after Trump.  Yisrael Katz says his decision is to give honor to the U.S. president for his "courageous" decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish State of Israel.  Katz says the proposed subway tunnel would connect Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and go under the Old City to end at the Donald John Trump Western Wall station.  Not everyone is thrilled with the idea. Palestinian leaders condemned the plan shortly after it was announced.

The 'L.A. Times' cites left leaning newspaper 'Haaretz' columnist Chemi Shalev who sarcastically suggests the Western Wall itself be renamed, quote "'Trump Wall' and the praying area - 'Ivanka Square'."
