Former Taliban Hostage Faces Sexual Assault Charges

The Canadian man who spent 5 years in Taliban captivity along with his family is now facing sexual assault charges.  Joshua Boyle is due back in court this week in Ottawa on 15 criminal counts including sexual assault, unlawful confinement and making threats.  Canada's news media say few other details about the case are being made public.  Boyle and his American wife, Caitlin Coleman, were taken prisoner while hiking in Afghanistan in 2012.

Pakistani troops rescued the couple and their 3 children last fall.  Boyle claimed while in captivity his wife was raped and the couple's infant daughter was killed by the Taliban.
