Roku Announces New Smart Home Device

Alexa, Cortana, Siri and Google are getting more competition this fall.  Roku says it is releasing a voice-activated assistant this year.  It's part of an automatic software update and is called "Roku Entertainment Assistant," but say you can call your A-I "Roku."  The company says it doesn't plan to stop there and is planning a whole home experience that will include smart speakers, lights and other home hardware.

The smart TV and streaming device maker says it will use its own operating system and will connect wirelessly to other devices.
