South Padre's Waters Too Cold For Sea Turtles

The extreme cold over the past several days is having a negative impact on sea turtles in waters off South Padre Island in Texas.  The coastal water temperature has dropped down to around 50 degrees causing a stunning effect on the bodies of hundreds of sea turtles.  Several of the reptilians have died from the shock.

Last night workers at the non-profit Sea Turtle Inc. on South Padre Island said over 150 turtles have been rescued in a 24 hour period.
