White House Pressed On Feud Between Trump & Bannon

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders is being pressed about the feud between President Donald Trump and former top adviser Steve Bannon.  During a briefing yesterday, Sanders said the President is furious and disgusted.  In a new book, Bannon says a meeting between Trump campaign officials and a Russian attorney was "treasonous."  Sanders called that particular assertion ridiculous and outrageous.  In the lengthy statement, President Trump said Bannon has nothing to do with him or his presidency.  Trump added, quote -- "When he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind."  The 2016 meeting in Trump Tower included Donald Trump Jr., then-campaign chief Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner.  Kushner is the President's son-in-law and top White House adviser.

Sanders rejected speculation that the Trump-Bannon feud may hurt the President's base of support.  She described Trump's base as very solid.  Many veteran political analysts view Bannon as a key architect of Trump's surprise victory in the presidential election.
