A new book that paints a chaotic picture of the Trump administration goes on sale today. Publisher Henry Holt and Company is releasing "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" early as President Trump's lawyers tried to stop publication after excerpts were published earlier in the week.
Trump has blasted author Michael Wolff, described the book as phony, and said he never granted Wolff access to the White House. Wolff has said he had wide access to the West Wing for months and conducted hundreds of interviews with members of the president's staff.
Trump has been particularly furious at former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon. Bannon is quoted in the book harshly criticizing Trump and members of his family and administration.
As a result of his public feud with the President the board of directors at Breitbart News is reportedly considering firing Bannon, who serves as the executive chairman of the conservative website. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that influential board members are distancing themselves from Bannon over the inflammatory quotes attributed to him in the book.
