Jon Gruden will be the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders. The 54-year-old current ESPN analyst will return to coaching after a ten-year layoff. Gruden previously spent four seasons as the coach of the Raiders between 1998 and 2001, compiling a 38-and-26 record. He then was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for several draft picks and replaced head coach Tony Dungy, who had been fired.
Gruden led the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl Championship in 2002 and was with the team until 2008 before entering broadcasting. A press conference by the Oakland Raiders has been scheduled for Tuesday.
