San Francisco Terror Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

A California man accused of plotting to attack a San Francisco tourist attraction is pleading not guilty. Twenty-six-year-old Everitt Jameson entered the plea yesterday in a federal court in Fresno.  He was arrested by the FBI last month after he allegedly talked to undercover agents about the plot, including one agent he believed was with ISIS. Jameson is accused of planning to attack San Francisco's Pier 39 on Christmas Day.  He's charged with attempting to aid a terrorist organization and distributing bomb-making information.

Prosecutors say his plot involved using pipe bombs to herd people into one part of Pier 39 where he would shoot them with an assault rifle. According to the Fresno Bee Jameson "told an undercover agent that Christmas Day would be “the perfect day to commit the attack” and that he “did not need an escape plan because he was ready to die.”

Jameson's attorney says agents didn't find any bomb-making materials and his client had expressed second-thoughts.

Jameson is being held in the Fresno County Jail without bail pending his trial and faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
