Two Airplanes Collide At JFK Airport

An investigation is underway after two Boeing 777's collided on the ground at Kennedy Airport. Officials say the right wing of a China Southern plane clipped the tail of a Kuwait airliner early this morning. According to NBC News, there were no passengers aboard the China Southern plane. Passengers aboard the Kuwait airliners were taken to hotels while awaiting alternative flights.

No injuries were reported but both jets were damaged. The Port Authority tweeted out photos of the damage:

The  Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter Unit (ARFF) responded to Terminal 4, JFK, last night; a China Southern 777's wing tip struck the tail end of a Kuwait Airways 777 causing damage to both aircraft.

The accident only made matters worse at the New York airport following massive delays due to Winter Storm Grayson.
