It appears that a U.S. spy satellite launched by SpaceX Sunday may be a total loss. Multiple reports say officials believe the highly classified Zuma satellite failed to separate from the rocket and burned up in the atmosphere. Neither SpaceX or the satellite's maker, Northrop Grumman, are commenting on the mission's success or failure. The Zuma satellite was a secret project that so far has not been attributed to any particular government agency.
As of last night, SpaceX was saying its Falcon 9 rocket performed "nominally."
