At Least 2 Dead In Peru Quake

A magnitude-7.1 earthquake in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Peru is leaving at least 2 people dead and several missing.  The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake struck early yesterday near the coast and about 25 miles south-southwest of Acari, an approximate 8-hour drive down the coast from the capital city of Lima.  Authorities said at least 65 people were injured.  The quake collapsed homes trapping some people.  There are also reports of power outages.  At least 17 people are reported missing. 

There was no threat of a tsunami.
