The identity of the victim was not provided.
California Fire officials say four people are still missing after last week's mudslides in the coastal town of Montecito. Search-and-rescue efforts continue, but with so much mud and debris, progress has been slow.
Many areas around Santa Barbara County remain under mandatory evacuation. Most of Montecito has lost natural gas service because of the deadly mudslides.
Sixty-two homes were destroyed by mudslides in Southern California last week with more than four hundred more damaged. Twenty-eight people were injured by the mudslides and flash flooding.
