When it comes to health, e-cigarettes and vaping seem to be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, they seem to help adults kick the regular cigarette habit. On the other, they also seem to make kids more likely to try regular cigarettes. A new review of e-cigarettes from the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine finds that most of these alternative products do emit a variety of poisonous substances, but the amount varies among the countless products on the market.
The review found that kids who try them are twice as likely to try tobacco within a year.
